Our Noogieland Program offers ongoing support for children who have been touched by cancer by providing Noogie Nights, educational and interactive workshops, Gilda's Study Corner, and Camp Sparkle.

Noogieland is open to children who:

have been diagnosed with cancer
have a parent or loved one who is living with cancer
are grieving the death of a loved one from cancer

Noogie Nights, held every week, offer opportunities for discussion, interactive workshops, including yoga and therapy dog visits, and more.  Supervised by a licensed clinician with the help of dedicated volunteers, Noogie Nights provide a safe environment for kids to share their feelings and build support. Noogie Nights are scheduled at the same time as many of Gilda’s Club’s activities for adults, including support groups, lectures and workshops, so that support is available for the whole family.

Gilda’s Study Corner was created for our children participating in our weekly Noogie Nights.  It provides time for the children to receive homework help from a volunteer prior to their respective Noogie Night support group.  This program has been developed to help ease the burden of ensuring that homework is done by the end of the night.

Camp Sparkle provides week-long sessions of fun themes, specialized workshops, field trips and lots of laughter during periods when school is not in session (mid-winter recess, Spring break, and summer vacation).  There is no fee for camp, which includes all activities, lunch and snacks for all campers.

GCNYC also offers many special events for children and their families throughout the year, including our annual Halloween celebration, Noogie Fest.

If you have a child who has been touched by cancer, joining GCNYC is easy. Just call (212) 647-9700 and ask to speak to one of our social workers. They will let you know about the program nearest you, help you through the membership process and answer any questions you may have.
