Get started by filling out our Volunteer Application!

Volunteers play a central role in our community. Gilda's Club NYC volunteers are involved in various aspects of the club—from workshops to administrative and clerical assistance, and from outreach to clean-up projects. We here at Gilda’s Club New York City wear a lot of different hats, and as part of our volunteer community you too can become involved in many different aspects of Gilda’s Club New York City.

All volunteers are required to attend a volunteer orientation. After we receive your completed application, we will be in touch with you to schedule an orientation.

Volunteer Opportunities:

Administrative Volunteers: Volunteers can help with the administrative workings of our program. We need people to help with reception, monthly mailings, and various other clerical duties.

Special Events Volunteers: We have many special events, from picnics to birthday parties, musical performances and pot lucks. We need lots of help during these fun events! Many of these volunteers may also be interested in participating in our fund-raising events that occur outside of the Clubhouse.

Sponsorship Volunteers : Volunteers who have an interest can participate in fundraising campaigns.

Outreach Volunteers : Volunteers can participate in community outreach activities such as distributing Gilda’s Club materials at health fairs, and/or speaking to groups on behalf of Gilda’s Club.

Customized Membership Plan Volunteers : Licensed mental health professionals can volunteer their time conducting Customized Membership Plans, the one-to-one interviews in which members create a plan for their membership.

New Member Meeting Volunteers : Cancer survivors, or individuals who have had experience with a family member or friend having cancer, may be trained to become facilitators for our New Member Meetings, which is the first orientation in our membership process.

Workshop Volunteers : Volunteers who have an area of expertise can become workshop facilitators. These professionals facilitate workshops like art, Qi Gong, meditation, yoga, Feldenkrais and creative writing.

Noogieland Volunteers : Volunteers can participate in our children's program, Noogieland, where they supervise recreational play for children impacted by cancer.
