An Evening of Creative Expression is a special event for the members, by the members. It is an event where Creative Expression workshop participants are invited to share their favorite works of self expression, such as paintings, drawings, origami, crochet, essays and songs.
On March 22nd, members showcased their artwork and spoke about the inspirations behind them. Some read their written works to the group and some performed music that they wrote.
“It is special in the sense that the members laugh and entertain each other with their stories, music and art but also, are supportive and thought provoking as members speak of the personal impact a workshop has had on them,” says Emily Riordan, Program & Education Coordinator.
“One member told me that The Story You Tell writing workshop is her support group. That she comes twice a month to this workshop and has found it to be the therapeutic method that works best for her. The connections members have made within our creative expressions program is ever present throughout the event and is uplifting to experience.”
