Dear Gilda’s Club Community,
Gilda’s Club NYC is closely monitoring the latest reports from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and NYC Department of Health about the Coronavirus (COVID 19) and has taken a number of precautionary measures for the health and safety of our members especially those who have compromised immune systems. In response to the recommendations made by these two organizations for individuals, we are modifying the delivery of our support program at the Clubhouse starting on Friday, March 13th.
Although in-person support is what makes our support program so special and impactful, we have decided to temporarily suspend in-person programming at the Clubhouse.
Beginning Monday, March 16th, our adult and teen weekly and monthly support groups will be facilitated via teleconference. If you participate in a weekly group, we will send you contact information for teleconferencing which will occur on the regularly scheduled day and time for your group. For monthly groups, we will continue to have open registration through our online member portal and provide you with teleconferencing information. Guidelines for teleconferencing participation will also be provided to all group members.
Effective Wednesday, March 18th our Noogieland program will be suspended until we resume on-site facilitation again.
Although we’re suspending our healthy lifestyle workshops and educational lectures during this period, we are going to assess the possibility of offering a few select activities digitally. We will keep you posted as we make progress on this effort.
We understand that the modification and suspension of our programming may present a range of challenges for you and we are here to assist you through this period.
The Staff at Gilda’s Club NYC will be available to provide you with any additional resources and emotional support you may need during this time, so please call us at 212-647-9700, we’re here to help.
