Red Door Community Hosts Fourth Educational Seminar for Latina Women with Gynecological Cancers

On Thursday, November 21, Red Door Community, held the fourth in a series of gynecological cancer specific educational events in Spanish. The event was presented in collaboration with Latina SHARE, Mount Sinai’s Woman to Woman program, and the Lewin Fund to Fight Women’s Cancers. The panel discussion included three family members impacted by cancer who spoke about their experiences and how cancer has changed the course of their lives as caregivers.

Partnering with other cancer support communities in NYC is an active priority for Red Door Community, by working together we reach more New Yorkers impacted by cancer. Latina SHARE is a nonprofit that supports, educates, and empowers Latina women affected by breast, ovarian or metastatic breast cancer, with a special focus on medically under-served communities. Their mission is to connect these women with the unique support of survivors and peers, creating a community where no one has to face breast or ovarian cancer alone.

In 2019, Red Door Community partnered with over 25 organizations to implement over 600 healthy lifestyle workshops and 50 educational events.
