In February 2019, New York Triathlon (NYTRI) lost one of their own. Laurie DiViti lost her third battle with cancer at too young of an age.

She, like many others, started racing with NYTRI. Over the last decade, after beating ovarian cancer twice, she became a 2X Ironman and rode her bike across America. Laurie volunteered at Gilda Club’s NYC after her second battle with cancer. She was an true inspiration to cancer patients, survivors, women, and triathletes by talking to the people who were going through what she went through.

Because of this NYTRI is naming the Cross Bay Duathlon on Sunday, April 28, 2019 in her honor and accepting donations for Gilda’s Club NYC whose mission is to support, educate and empower cancer patients and their families.
