On the very same day the tri-state region began preparations to lockdown due to the COVID-19 outbreak, 52-year-old Derek Tucker began chemotherapy at NY Presbyterian. Tucker was diagnosed with Stage 4 prostate cancer in September 2018. He’s been fighting ever since. Even now, during the pandemic, Tucker said his doctors said he has no other option but to venture outside of the safety of his home and go to chemotherapy treatments once every three weeks.
