Gilda’s Club NYC has announced its first-ever benefit concert, “It’s Always Something,” to help those with cancer and their families in the New York City metropolitan area.
The organization is named in memory of the legendary comedian Gilda Radner, who died of ovarian cancer in 1989.

Red Door Community honored Emma Stone with the Gilda Radner Award during the organization’s virtual benefit on Thursday night.
The organization, which offers support groups, counseling and workshops to people with cancer and their loved ones, provides services for more than 10,000 people each year. Stone, whose mother is a breast cancer survivor, dedicated part of her acceptance speech to the services Red Door Community provides to young people.

On the very same day the tri-state region began preparations to lockdown due to the COVID-19 outbreak, 52-year-old Derek Tucker began chemotherapy at NY Presbyterian. Tucker was diagnosed with Stage 4 prostate cancer in September 2018. He’s been fighting ever since.
