The Cancer Advocacy Project (CAP) assists cancer patients, survivors, caregivers, and support staff in three main areas: (1) drafting no-cost life-planning documents (wills, healthcare proxies, living wills and powers of attorney) for cancer patients and survivors, (2) challenging unjust health insurance decisions and (3) advice on cancer-related employment discrimination. Their comprehensive range of services includes direct representation, case consultation, advocacy, community education, training, financial counseling, and impact litigation. The Family Center

The Family Center provides social and legal services including health care coordination to NYC families from all five boroughs who are confronting illness, crisis, or loss. They assist with housing, income maintenance, family law and lifetime planning. Eligible for anyone living with HIV, cancer or a serious illness, caregivers who are caring for minor children, not their own, or a disabled adult and families with children at-risk for out-of-home placement (Primarily ACS referred families).The Family Center will also serve families who don’t exactly fit the above criteria when the circumstances indicate they would benefit from services.
